SUMMARY:WICEN NSW - FEBEX22 - Field Day Exercise
DESCRIPTION:WICEN NSW will conduct its FEBEX22 exercise on 19-20 February\,
  just a couple of weeks away. This email provides updated information for 
 local amateur radio operators who may wish to join in.\n\nOBJECTIVE\n\nThe
  aim of the exercise is two-fold:\n\n1. To set up an ad-hoc wide area voic
 e and data communications network using amateur and commercial HF frequenc
 ies involving as many nodes across ACT &amp\; NSW as possible.\n\n2. To us
 e the exercise to introduce new WICEN members to the methods and process
 es of the group\, and to get them on the air\, perhaps for the first time.
 \n\n\nLOCAL AMATEUR RADIO OPERATORS\nLocal amateur operators are invited\,
  indeed encouraged. WICEN NSW will listen on repeaters local to their stat
 ions for any local operators who may wish to call in during the exercise. 
 Contacts on HF frequencies will also be welcome.\n\nFREQUENCIES\nWith plan
 ning well under way\, details of frequencies to be used are listed below f
 or anyone who wishes to make contact during the exercise.\n\nFrequencies /

 Winlink - Peter VK2EHQ will operate a Gateway for Winlink. Peer to peer by
  request only.\n*7110 KHz would normally be used but its potential use dur
 ing ongoing events in Tonga has been discouraged.\n\nOPERATING TIMES\nSatu
 rday - Optional Activity 1600 to 1900\nThis session will be an informal on
 e during which stations will set up and test their equipment. All are welc
 ome to make contact and say G'day.\n\nSunday – Formal Exercise 0900 to 1
 300\nThis session will include regular SITREPS (Situation Reports) from pa
 rticipating stations. Calls from local amateur operators to participating 
 stations are invited/encouraged.\n\nLOCAL REPEATER USE\nThe FEBEX22 exerci
 se is intended to be an HF exercise only. There is no intention to use loc
 al repeaters as part of the exercise. During the course of the exercise\, 
 WICEN operators may make an All Station call on local repeaters to invite 
 local amateur operators to make contact. If this use of a repeater in your
  area is not acceptable\, please advise WICEN before the exercise.\n\nWICE
