Consequently the scoring had been mo dified significantly from the usual format. Land lubbers will be able to p articipate from a home or mobile station with a slightly lower score for e ach contact whereas the mariners who operate handheld in sight of the harb our will gather more points. Additional points are awarded for simplex con tacts as well as those who make contact with VK2FLY who will be operating from his well positioned bridge using the “Whisky” callsign.\n\nThe co ntest has been shortened from the usual 6 hours to two 2 hour “watches ” being 10:00 – 12:00 and 12:00 – 14:00 local time. Duplicate contac ts are not permitted within a watch\, however\, the same station may be wo rked once for each watch.\n\nThe object of the contest is to make as many contacts as possible. “Coastal” operation is restricted to VHF and UHF bands using hand held transceivers. Any mode is permissible and contact m ay be simplex or through a repeater.\n\nThis year will see the introductio n of the Robinson Crusoe award for the highest score.
