FT-2000 HF/6M base station transceiver with built in power supply, built in tuner, twin antenna connections (switchable from the front panel), roofing filter, dual receiver, digital signal processing and filtering, and all of the most-used functions accessible via physical switches or controls on the front panel. The unit is in good working condition, case condition and display is good as per photo. This unit originally belonged to another local amateur, John (VK2FR and VK2ANT). He sold it to me about five years ago when he upgraded to a later high-end Yaesu transceiver.
This radio worked well in my office on a cobweb antenna. I mostly used it for digital mode contacts.
The radio comes with all of the accessories needed for digital modes, including matching Yaesu SCU-17 audio conversion unit with cables, and serial CAT cable. It has been fitted with an IF out cord so that the transceiver may be connected to a computer via USB SDR stick, ready to use with HDSDR software for an on-screen waterfall (clickable to take you direct to any visible active frequency without touching the radio). The 820T2 SDR USB unit is included, but not the PC — you will need to supply that!
Comes with all documentation such as updated user manual, SCU17 manual, instructions for the waterfall display connect-up, circuit diagrams (for the transceiver), original hand-held microphone, “Nifty Mini Manual” for the FT-2000, original promotional pamphlet, user manual errata, and printed alignment procedures.
Now double-boxed in the original carton.
The FT-2000 is no longer in production, but is still fully supported by Yaesu. John had the radio professionally serviced and upgraded with the latest firmware not long before I took possession of it.
